Wildlife students actively participating in field work activities

Wildlife students actively participating in field work activities. Every year the wildlife class in third year have field courses in which they embark on ten days field practicals where they learn field courses which include and not limited to field ornithology, field mammalogy, field herpetology, field survey techniques, field sociology and protected area management. The faculty has had a great relationship with Mt Kenya Conservancy which hosts the students and lectures and has year in year out proved to be a conducive and suitable study area for the wildlife students. The facility homes both free ranging and captive animals giving the learners a perfect field lab to interact with both the flora and fauna of the conservancy. On the tenth day the students get a chance to plant trees and climb Mt Kenya and experience the different ecological zones as presented by the mountain. The camping event has proved to be quite instrumental in building an all-round wildlife student ready for the competitive job market in managerial and research positions.
